Alicia Waller, SHRM-SCP, PHR, MBA, is a seasoned HR professional with more than 25 years of experience building and strengthening HR infrastructures to support domestic and global organizations. Her expertise includes advising and leading strategic planning, corporate development, and change management initiatives.
Waller comes to NCOA from AMIDEAST, a leading American nonprofit organization engaged in international education, training, and development activities in the Middle East and North Africa. As their Corporate Director of Human Resources during the past eight years, she oversaw all HR functions in the U.S. and 11 countries; provided guidance and direction to 11 Country Directors, and supervised 16 direct reports supporting 1,300 staff.
Prior to her tenure with AMIDEAST, Waller held progressive HR leadership roles with L-3/Engility, Cambridge Healthcare Management, Medstar Research Institute, and Price Waterhouse Coopers.
During her career, Waller has led enterprise-wise efforts to align HR organizations with business strategic goals. Waller has developed, launched, and managed programs for all HR functional areas as well as supporting implementations for custom HR solutions.
Waller’s long list of credentials include 20 years in government/defense contracting (seven years with the Department of Defense), professional services, and nonprofit; 16 years of leading and directing organizational HR, and 17 years of International Management.
She holds an MBA, a MS in International Management, a BS in Business Management and Human Resources from the University of Maryland; and is a certified senior professional in Human Resources.
Outside of work, Alicia enjoys spending her free time with her son and daughter and volunteers as Navigator for Hire Autism, a nonprofit based in Virginia. As a Navigator, she serves as coach and mentor to clients who are seeking placement in the local job market.
